About Us

The Problem

Every baby deserves to be clean, dry, and healthy—but for 1 in 3 Mid-South families, this is a daily struggle. Many parents are forced to choose between buying diapers and meeting other essential needs. Unfortunately, programs like WIC and SNAP do not cover diapers, leaving many families without a solution.

At Sweet Cheeks Diaper Ministry, we believe no parent should have to make that choice. With the help of generous donors and community partners, we work tirelessly to provide diapers and other necessities to families in need.

What We Do

Your monetary donations and diaper contributions directly support families by ensuring their babies have the essentials they need. With every donation, we purchase additional diapers and wipes, which are distributed at our monthly diaper distribution events.

Beyond Diapers – Our Impact

We understand that families facing diaper insecurity often have other unmet needs, so we also provide:

  • Baby Formula & Period Supplies 🍼💙
  • Adult Incontinence Supplies to support dignity for all
  • Community Referrals for job searches, financial planning, and social services

By addressing these challenges, we bring hope and relief to families across the Mid-South.

Our Reach

As the Diaper Bank of the Mid-South, Sweet Cheeks proudly serves families across Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi, ensuring that essential supplies reach those who need them the most.

Stronger Together – Our Partnerships

We collaborate with local social service organizations, churches, and community groups to distribute supplies efficiently and provide wraparound support to struggling families.

Together, we are making a difference—one diaper, one family, one life at a time.

Our HERstory – The Journey of Sweet Cheeks Diaper Ministry

In 2014, Cori Smith founded Sweet Cheeks Diaper Ministry in Memphis, TN, inspired by her own experience as a mother facing diaper need. After losing her job due to illness and bedrest during pregnancy, she struggled financially but was fortunate to have a support system. The one item she constantly needed? Diapers.

Realizing that many families lacked that same support, Cori took action. She started collecting diapers from her garage, determined to help mothers like her.

What began as a small community effort quickly grew, leading to warehouse expansions and partnerships with The National Diaper Bank Network.

Today, 10 years later, Sweet Cheeks Diaper Ministry has proudly distributed over ONE MILLION DIAPERS, ensuring that no family faces diaper need alone.

Meet Cori Smith – Founder & Executive Director

Born in Chicago and raised in Memphis, Cori Smith has always been a voice for those in need. Growing up in a low-income environment, she witnessed the struggles of poverty firsthand. At just 12 years old, she wrote a letter to President Bill Clinton requesting more funding for homeless families in Memphis.

Cori’s passion for service never faded. Her personal struggles as a new mother facing financial uncertainty motivated her to take action and create real change.

Today, as the Executive Director of Sweet Cheeks Diaper Ministry, she continues her mission—ensuring no parent has to struggle alone. Under her leadership, Sweet Cheeks has expanded its impact, providing diapers, period supplies, and adult incontinence products to thousands of families each year.

Cori holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Memphis and a Master’s Degree in Management with a focus on Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix. More than anything, she is a mother, advocate, and community leader with a heart dedicated to service.
