Lack of access to period supplies can lead to serious health issues and lost opportunities , especially for low-income women. 1 in 5 reports missing work, school, or important events due to a lack of period supplies. Many are forced to overuse products or rely on unsafe alternatives , increasing the risk of infection.
A staggering 88% of women consider period products a basic necessity , yet only 4% know about local resources providing free or discounted supplies. Unfortunately, state and federal safety net programs (like WIC & SNAP) do not cover these essential items.
